Bideford Triathlon

Two distances The measured distances of the courses are 104 miles (167km) and 66 miles (107km) This is not a race it is a timed ride.

These courses are fully signed and you are supported with feed stations, a sweeper van and mechanic. Should problems arise simply phone control using the number given at the start. If there is no mobile phone signal then simply wait and the sweeper van will pick you up. People ride these courses on mountain bikes, hybrids, touring bikes and road race bikes. You do not need a special bike it just needs to be in good repair and serviced before you start.

100 km course is suitable for almost any rider that has ridden a few kilometres a week. There are a couple of challenging hills but nothing steep. It can be completed really quickly or, if you want, take a picnic and take your time. Depending on your level this ride takes between 3.5 to 8 hours.

160 km course is suitable for riders who regularly ride significant distances. If you ride at a steady rate you can complete the ride without any problem. You don't have to be fast but you do need some stamina. There are some steep hills at the Dartmoor end of the course, three at 13% and one at 17%. Depending on your level this ride takes between 5.5 and 10 hours.
